Walking with Presence, Spring Reminders
I am aware this is only a spring tease for now...
I hear the chirping of birds, the soft song of mother nature. I feel the sun's gentle embrace that I've missed for quite some time now. I smell the passing steam of a laundry vent, a reminder of a spring day long ago when my mother was cleaning the house, taking care of us. I see bare trees and shrub longing to breathe life once again. I am one of them. I see someone walking, caressing a jacket over their arm, a familiar case of spring's unexpected warmth. I see a child run and jump from a sidewalk curb, and I am inspired to find that frolic again within me, within us all. I place my hand on the left side of my chest where my heart rests, and thank spring for the gentle reminder that I am alive still, through all of it.
